Selarong Cave, a Beautiful Historical Tour Object Area

Selarong Cave is a historical heritage located at about 14 km from the south of Yogyakarta City. It was used as the headquarters of Pangeran Diponegoro’s guerrilla in the past (about 1825 – 1830) to struggle against the Netherlands colonialism. Now the cave is a tourism object that has the noble historical values, especially to construct the patriotic spirit of Indonesian youth generation and general society.

Selarong Cave is a beautiful tour object area located at Dukuh Kembang Putihan, Pajangan, Bantul Regency, Yogyakarta, Indonesia. The area has a beautiful landscape, and the location is suitable as camping ground. The location of Selarong cave area is on the hilltop which is planted by apple guava or ‘jambu kluthuk’ and manilkara or ‘sawo kecik’ trees. The fruits are the characteristic feature of this tour object. Currently, the Bantul Regency Government is developing Selarong Cave area for the longan agro tourism object.

There is guardhouse as the facility for enjoying the panorama around the cave. The visitors can enjoy the panorama of valley which is spread out beautifully. The visitors can buy apple guava fruit that has a characteristic aroma as the souvenir. There is also the wood handicrafts center, where the visitors can find the local handicrafts products, such as statues, masks, etc; and watch the making process directly. In certain moments, the attraction/event tourism is held in this area.

Linggarjati Museum: Looking back on the beginning of Indonesia’s diplomatic struggle

Linggarjati museumIndonesia has many places of historical tourism. Linggarjati Museum is one of the most important because of its historical value as being a place where an important incident was once held. The incident was called Linggarjati Agreement, as it took place at Linggarjati – a village located under Ciremai Mountain, between Kuningan and Cirebon City. This Agreement was a start of Indonesia’s diplomatic efforts for the nation independence.

Linggarjati Museum is a building to commemorate the conference and the Linggarjati Agreement between Indonesia and Netherlands Governments in 1946. The bulding was a non-living witness of an important incident in Indonesia’s historical journey. The conference resulted in agreement about Indonesia’s independence status. Linggarjati Agreement was the defacto recognition of the Republic of Indonesia by the Kingdom of The Netherlands and the right of self-determination of a people, after centuries of domination.

Barli, this actor who owns this idea to be found of this museum. This Museum stands up to give the awareness to society for the importance of art appreciation which is becoming go forward fast,in another side, this museum also to provide the space to all actors to be able to present their masterpiece so that can be enjoyed in general. this Museum Barli is opened by Minister of Tourism of Post and Telecommunications ( MENPARPOSTEL) on October 26, 1992.

This Museum is often used for some activities of artistic like  exhibition of painting design, masterpiece sale, discussion, informal discussion by various theme workshop, ceramic studio training and painting, and many various other activities.

With the existence of this museum we can see of artistic world growth of fine arts goodness, artistic painting as well as cultural art. This Museum is also used for saving and preserving the artistic creation utilize and to dig of values history as well as as sign of existence Barli in wrestling artistic world in Indonesia. We can visit to this Museum from Saturday up to Thursday from at 9 a.m until 5 p.m, so if you intend to come there just come arround that time!
