This movie was so popular in Indonesia and was also introduced at a film festival in Germany. Now, Belitung is often called “the Island of Laskar Pelangi”.

There’re many reasons why you should visit this place. Some interesting attractions of this island included the following: the white sand, like refined sugar. This island is a main producer of quartz-sand. The granites also add the uniqueness of this island. It’s interesting to see the structures they formed. It seems as if someone has artistically arranged the stones. You can see these large stone-blocks spread from shoreside till the sea. Belitung is also surrounded by small islands. There’re 189 small islands around Belitung Island. Almost all of them are surrounded by white sand. You can visit them using boat. The beaches of these islands also comprised of white sand and granites. Besides its natural beauty, Belitung has also the interesting cultural and traditional wealth.

Belitung Island is located at Bangka Belitung Province, Indonesia. It can be reached only in 45 minutes direct flight from Jakarta. This island comprised of West Belitung and East Belitung Regency. There’re so many interesting tour locations offered by this island.
